PROCEDURE:

• i) Take 25 ml. of water in test jar.
• ii) Add 5 drops of reagent Z and mix.
• iii) Add 10 drops of reagent Y. the sample turns YELLOW.(if yellow color does not appear, add further reagent Y drop wise, till color is attained).
• iv) Add reagent CL-5 drop wise with gentle shake after each drop, till color changes from YELLOW to PURPLE. Count the no. of drops of reagent CL-5=5ppm, for water having chlorides more than 200 ppm, use reagent CL-25=25ppm (as cl).

Uses : This test is used for to find the chlorides of water in ppm.
