PROCEDURE:

• i) Take 25 ml. water in test jar .
• ii) Add 10 drops of reagent B.
• iii) Add few specs of reagent A powder.
• iv) Add reagent D-5 with gentle shake after each drop, until color changes from PINK to BLUE. Count the no. of drops of reagent D-5 required for color change. Calculate total harness (as caco3) as follows.
• v) In case reagent D-5 in used,(one drop=5ppm).
• vi) In case reagent D-1 is used, (one drop =1ppm).

Uses : This test is used for to find the hardness of water in ppm.
