Tests on Emulsion

Miscibility with water

Code: This test is done as per IS: 8887-2004.

Procedure:

Gradually add 150 ml distilled water, with constant stirring 50 ml of emulsion in a 400-ml beaker at a temperature of 20- 30°C. Allow the mixture to stand for 2 h and examine it for any appreciable coagulation of the bitumen content of the emulsion.

Uses:

To determine the miscibility with water in emulsion.
